Inspiring Athletes and Academics - Aiding Futures
As a Safe-Haven.
Inspiring Athletes and Academics (IAA) is a non-profit organization that operates as a safe-haven for underserved student athletes, providing them the opportunity to experience a healthy lifestyle through sports while receiving needed academic support. We operate as a tuition-free, incentive-based tutoring and reading program, rewarding students for their dedication to academics by providing our students with free athletic training and school supplies.
As a Skill-set Developer.
Well-designed tutoring is shown to increase comprehension, improve reading skills, strengthen study habits, and boost confidence levels. Knowing this, our tutors are dedicated to meeting the unique needs of every student and approach each session as an individualized experience. In recognizing the link between reading and increased comprehension as well as writing and vocabulary skills, we place great emphasis on our reading programs. We strive to cultivate student’s appreciation for, and enjoyment of, reading in their academic and personal lives.
As an Accessible Resource.
At IAA, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and to have access to resources needed in order to do so. Our tutoring and reading initiatives are designed to help students develop study habits and skills that will set them up for success in our program and beyond. We recognize the role tutoring and reading can play in student academic experience and future success.
Our program fosters skills such as teamwork, perseverance, leadership, time management, and responsibility. By pairing our academic and athletic programs, we are able to motivate and inspire students while providing them with useful skills on and off the court.

Our Inspiration and Logo
The design of our logo is a direct representation of the heart behind our mission. Judy Geyer was a beloved and devoted mother to six biological and eight adopted children. She was a loving, selfless, and generous woman who had a heart for helping children in need. It is from Judy’s legacy that IAA was born, and what was once Judy’s mission, is now ours.
In addition to the letters “IAA”, our logo is representative of our inspiration and mission. The purple coloring symbolizes pancreatic cancer, the cause of Judy Geyer’s passing back in 2015. The heartbeat symbol resembling a “W” recognizes Judy’s spirit and heart as the driving force behind our work as we help students WIN in every aspect of their life.
